Hey guys! So lately I have been looking into string art, and admiring how cool it is, so I thought I would give it a try. I decided to upcycle an old canvas that had a painting on it I did not like. I saw a friend use a canvas instead of wood, and she made some improvisations to make it work. So, I guess you could use a canvas or a piece of wood for this project, and both have their pros and cons.

Supplies:
Screw in hooks
Canvas/Wood board
Nails
Embroidery String
Outline of desired picture
Hot glue gun ( If using canvas)
Step 1:

Put nails around the outline of your image
Step 2:

Remove your paper outline
Step 3 (Only if you are using a canvas):

Hot glue around all nails.
Step 4:

Tie string around nails and wrap around as desired.
Step 5:

Cut off string where knots were tied
Step 6:

Add your screw in hooks to the bottom of the frame. This part may be difficult. Be strong, push hard :P.
Step 7:

Hang, utilize, and enjoy the satisfaction of accomplishing a useful DIY ;D
I found this project quite quick to do, and it turned out pretty cute. I did have troubles hanging it, and a 1quick tip is use two hooks, because the weight of the jewelry tilted my canvas. The nails in the canvas were not as sturdy as they would have been in a piece of wood, by I also got to reuse and old canvas, so that's good. I definitely think the string art on a nice piece of wood looks really nice compared to on a canvas. However, I really liked doing this DIY, and hope you guys did to. We will be back soon with our next DIYs, so stay tuned!
